Electric vehicle charging outdoor solutions

AT THE FOREFRONT OF ELECTRIC MOBILITY
Simon, a global reference in electrical material, lighting control systems and workplace solutions, has been applying its know-how since 2011 to the development of charging infraestructures for electric cars and motorbikes, and for plug-in hybrid and quadricycle vehicles.
Our challenge is to promote the use of low-emission vehicles and more sustainable cities.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING SOLUTIONS
Simon offers different ranges of electric vehicle chargers that adapt to each installation environment.
Our charging solutions stand out because they are simple to use, robust, easy to install, flexible, integratable with third-party systems and have the official certification of various electric vehicle manufacturers: Renault, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai.

Simon participates actively in the following leading national associations promoting electric mobility: AEDIVE, Plataforma LIVE, CEEC, VoltTour, Mesa Tirvec (ICAEN).
CURRENT REGULATIONS
The requirement to incorpórate infraestructures, in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 1053/2014, of 12 December approving a new Complementary Technical Instruction (ITC BT 52) <<Special purpose facilities. Infraestructure for the recharging of electric vehicles>>, into new-build car parks, means that the implementation of charging infraestructures is increasingly being promoted in the private and business sectors, as well as by public administrations.

CHARGING MODES AND CONNECTOR CATEGORIES
Different categories of connectors can be used for charging electric vehicles, depending on the brand and the vehicle manufacturer.

SCHUKO CONNECTOR: FOR ALL ELECTRICAL USES DEFINED BY THE CEE 7/4 STANDARD.
Common in vehicles with low power charging needs, such as electric motorbikes and plug-in hybrid vehicles with low-capacity batteries. (Allows charging modes 1 and 2). It has 2 terminals plus the ground connection. Handles currents of up to 16A.

M3 CATEGORY 1 OR YAZAKI CONNECTOR:
Category 1 or Yazaki connector defined by North American standard SAE J1772. It has 5 terminals: 2 charging terminals, a ground connection, and 2 for charge parameter control communication with the vehicle. Allows charging of up to 80A.

M3 CATEGORY 2 OR MENNKES CONNECTOR:
A connector used in Europe, with 7 connection terminals: 5 for three-phase or single-phase current (3-phase, neutral and ground) and 2 for charge parameter control communication with the vehicle. Allows a single-phase charge of up to 32A and a three-phase charge of up to 63A.

M3 CATEGORY 3 OR SCAME CONNECTOR:
Mainly limited to the French and Italian markets. It can have 5 or 7 terminals, depending on whether they are for three-phase or single-phase current, the ground connection, and 2 terminals for network communication. Allows charging of up to 32A.

M4 CHADEMO CONNECTOR
The Asian connector for DC fast charging, commonly used in electric stations (charging stations similar to petrol stations but for electric vehicles) for vehicles of Japanese manufacturers, such as Mitsubishi and Nissan. (Charge mode 4).

CCS M4 COMBO CONNECTOR:
The CCS (Combined Charging System) connector, known as COMBO, has 5 terminals for current, ground and communications. For European and North American vehicles that use DC fast charging.
