What is Simon Education Fund?
In 2001 the initiative of the founding family of Simon was born to allocate part of the business profits to training projects in developing countries, hand in hand with local NGOs.

2011-2012
Construction of a special attention and rehabilitation center for children with cerebral palsy (INDIA).
The special attention and rehabilitation center provides attention to 50 children between 4 and 10 years old, affected by cerebral palsy in the area of Kanekal, in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The treatment includes several types of therapies: physical, occupational, speech and behavioral, complemented by speech therapy services, sensory stimulation, cognitive and psychomotor, with the support of other cultural and artistic activities. In India there are 4 million children with cerebral palsy, of which 150,000 reside in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Every day approximately 200 children with this disability are born all over the country, caused by the high rate of premature births or low weight due to the malnutrition of pregnant women.
2009-2010
Sociocultural and economic training of young people through vocational training (SUDÁN).
The main objective of this project was to improve the socio-economic and cultural situation of young people in the city of Wau in South Sudan, through professional training to ensure equal conditions between men and women, also supporting microfinance initiatives
The beneficiary population was 400 people and this program focused especially on young people with primary education, with special attention to women with babies in the lactation stage. All beneficiaries received technical training and an official qualification certificate.
The studies were carried out in the professional training center Don Bosco, local partner of the project, who founded this school to cover the needs of people living in poverty and marginalization.
2008-2009
Integral development of the village of Vemulagondi in the Anantapur area (INDIA).
This program was carried out with the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, with the objective of covering the basic needs of the population of Vemulagondi, in southwestern India, in the Anantapur area.
The specific projects were:
• Provision of basic infrastructure: communication routes, electrification and drinking water throughout the town.
• Construction of 126 homes, a school, a community center, a reservoir for the collection of rainwater and a rural clinic.
2007-2008
Professionalization of 65 teachers in the Reyna area (GUATEMALA).
This project started in January 2008, was carried out in collaboration with the NGO Education Without Borders and its completion took place in January 2009 with the following objectives:
• Offer the opportunity to 59 young people (10 women and 49 men) to graduate as teachers of bilingual rural primary education.
• Training and knowledge in basic areas of humanistics, pedagogy, science, productivity and Mayan culture, making them a clear reference in their communities of work.
• Special emphasis was placed on raising awareness of the gender approach.
• Research projects were implemented for the development of the area.
• Graduates committed to stay five years as teachers in rural schools in their communities.
2006-2007
Integrated Action for the promotion, defense and social control of the rights of Children in Pernambuco (BRAZIL)
This project started in November 2006 focused on the promotion and defense of the rights of children and adolescents in situations of personal and social risk.
Simon Education Fund., Together with the local partner Consorcio ARCA "Action in Network for the Child and the Adolescent" carried out professional training courses and support in the labor insertion, with accompaniment and psychological help.
The young people were also trained about their rights and a follow-up was carried out by the organizations to protect the workers against their violation.
2006-2007
Ecological rehabilitation and food security in rural communities of Condega (NICARAGUA).
Since the beginning of the project in September 2006, Simon Education Fund collaborates with the local entity Human Promotion Institute, facilitating the supply of the basic elements (seeds, tools, animals ...) as well as technical assistance in the integral cultivation of farms and the improvement of the organization.
He also collaborated with the cooperatives to commercialize the production generated by the farmers with the aim of improving their quality of life.
2005-2006
Pilot center for technology education. Juan XXIII School in Cochabamba (BOLIVIA).
The objective of this project started in 2005 was the creation of a pilot center for technological education in Cochabamba, adapting to the Bolivian socio-cultural environment. Today, it has become a benchmark that leads the process of implementing 6 technology education centers nationwide.
This center provides technical training for electricians, technological bachelor, training for teachers in technological training, and electrical-mobile workshop.
The center was inaugurated in April 2007, with representatives of the Simon Group.
2003-2004
Creation of the José Castillo Higher Technical Center in Trinidad (BOLIVIA)
When the project started in January 2004, the center was inaugurated in April 2005.
In 2006, it began its activity with 167 students with the aim of creating 3 small companies to guarantee its self-sustainability: InformatiCastillo, Castillo-mecánica and Castillo-electricidad.
Technical electrical training offers new opportunities for young people in the Beni region to acquire professional technical knowledge and improve their exit in the labor market.
It currently has 15 training modules with capacity for 400 students, and a teaching and administrative staff consisting of 19 people subsidized by the government. Its facilities include 8 classrooms, 4 laboratories and a library, and an accommodation for 36 young people from the province has been built.
2002-2003
Strengthening of the business training system in the Cusco Valley (PERU)
Thanks to this project, more than 200 people benefited from the start-up of small businesses. 66 young micro-entrepreneurs, 60 carpenters and 42 artisans in jewelry and ceramics were trained.
In addition, more than 700 contracts were signed through its job board, establishing alliances with public and private institutions to promote the sector.
2001-2002
Vocational training school for the training of 150 students in Oromia (ETIOPIA)
This school was founded to improve the socio-economic situation of women through a specialized technical training process, through electrical workshops, cabinetmaking and plumbing.
A first class of students completed their training in this center, training for their subsequent job placement.
