A little workshop set up in Olot in 1916, and the shortage of lamp holders at the time, was the beginning of what is today, 100 years later, the Simon group. The Group is now led by the fourth generation of the family and is present in more than 90 countries worldwide.
The national popularity of the brand lies in the fact that it has been part of the lives of many people, in their day-to-day and in their environment. Simon switches are a common feature for users, that involve an action that is repeated unconsciously throughout the day: turning the light on and off. But Simon’s products are increasingly being incorporated into digital and automatic functions in people’s everyday lives.
The company’s trajectory and international scope includes business areas ranging from small electrical equipment, connectivity for workplaces, indoor and urban lighting and control systems to electrical vehicle recharging, where design and technology are a strategic constant along with continuous research and process improvement.
And one crucial asset remains the same: our primary industrial experience; knowledge of the production origin of each product, we even design our own machinery. Our philosophy of expansion is also about being a local specialist - with our own production centre and handling our own commercialisation, logistics and marketing whenever possible - to adapt to local rules and regulations.
One of the main benefits of Simon products is the long active life of the designs and their wide acceptance in the market. Simon won the National Design Award 2016 (granted by the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Technology). We are also members of the Leading Brands of Spain Forum, protection company for the BDC (Barcelona Design Centre), patrons of the COAC (Architects Association of Catalonia) and the Mies Van der Rohe Foundation, and members of RED (Meeting of Design Companies).
Apart from our trajectory, what makes us Simon is our commitment to business diversification, with brands such as Fluvia, Simon Brico and Simon Metalics.
Fluvia is a range of luminaires with high-quality light and excellent performance thanks to the use of LED technology. It offers solutions for professionals seeking functionality and ambience.
Simon Brico is a business line focused on the hardware and DIY channel. Here is a series of mechanisms, small electrical equipment, home automation, lighting and an anti pest solution. We’re always looking for the most innovative solutions to transform technology into safety and confort.
